Note Written for "Cheer for Art" project, sponsored by Tokyo Metropolitan Government. Ottaviano Cristofoli (Japan Philharmonic Orchestra solo trumpet) is from Italy, and Zachary Guiles (former Richmond Symphony Orchestra principal trombone) is from the United States. Their nationalities inspired me to arrange themes from "Madame Butterfly", an opera by G. Puccini which combines elements of American, Italian, and Japanese cultures.
In this publication, music develops primarily in the order of the opera story, but ends with the famous love duet from Act 1 so that it does not end in tragedy.
In this sheet music, I have included Italian lyrics for the melody sung by Madame Butterfly and Pinkerton. Performers can draw on the text to inform their expression and phrasing. I hope you will enjoy the chance to sing these rich melodies on brass instruments!
Recommended to be played on C Trumpet, however, a Bb Trumpet part is also included.

Scritto per il progetto del Governo Metropolitano di Tokyo, "Cheer for Art" ed eseguito da Ottaviano Cristofoli, prima tromba solista della Japan Philarmonic Orchestra e Zac Guiles, gi$00E0 primo trombone dell'orchestra sinfonica di Richmond. Le loro nazionalit$00E0 mi hanno ispirato ad arrangiare i celebri temi dell'opera "Madama Butterfly". Un'opera dove Giacomo Puccini unisce elementi di cultura americani, Italiani e Giapponesi.
In questa pubblicazione la musica si sviluppa principalmente seguendo la trama dell'opera ma si conclude con il famoso duetto d'amore dall'atto primo, cos$00EC da non finire in tragedia.
In questa partitura ho incluso i testi in Italiano delle parti di Butterfly e Pinkerton. L'esecutore pu$00F2 cogliere dal testo le espressioni e i fraseggi legati alla lingua Italiana. Spero che vi divertirete ad eseguire queste meravigliose melodie con i vostri strumenti.
Lo spartito originale $00E8 scritto per tromba in Do, ma $00E8 inclusa anche la versione in SIb. A piacere dell'esecutore la scelta dello strumento.
